Youth Enrichment
The South St. Paul Youth Enrichment Program offers a range of classes for students in grades kindergarten through high school during the school year and throughout the summer.
The program strives to provide opportunities that supplement the school curriculum without duplicating it. Activities include field trips, arts and crafts, homework help, Mad Science, sports, Awesome Children's Theater (A.C.T.), Driver Education, ACT/SAT preparation, adult/child classes and much more.

End of Summer Bash with Kidcreate Studio (4-9 years)
Summer is coming to an end. Don’t let it slip by without creating some “sweet” art! Join us as we create art out of candy. You guessed it, our art materials will be frosting, gumdrops, marshmallows, and other candy treats. Come create a summertime beach scene with these “sweet” supplies. Please pack a nut free snack and drink for your child.

Encanto with Kidcreate Studio (5-12 years)
Can't stop singing We Don't Talk About Bruno?? We can't either!! Come join Mirabel, Isabella, Antonio and the rest of the Madrigals as we create magical projects inspired by the hit Disney movie Encanto. We'll use glitter, clay, paint and more as we create clay butterflies, magical bedroom doors, Colombian rainforest creatures, and so much more. This is your chance to be part of the Family Madrigal!

Rubik's (Grades 6-8)
How'd you solve that so fast? Come learn and unlock the secrets of speedcubing. All participants are provided with cubes, beginner, intermediate, or advanced materials/instruction to learn the methods of various twisty puzzles. Participants will have the opportunity to play cubing games, build/design their own DIY cubes, make mosaics, try out bluetooth cubes, and have access to official competitions and equipment. The course is hosted by a real World Cube Association speedcuber/Rubik's ambassador who's attended over 40 competitions including nationals.

School of Fish Class (GRADES 6-12)
School of Fish is a 2 1/2-hour kids fishing class open to kids (and adults!) from grades 3 and up taught by pro angler and fishing TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fish in those lakes, and some great ways to catch them. They also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup. Class cost is Free for SSP Students. This class is made possible because of the SSP Education Foundation. For that, kids get:
- Rod & Reel
- Hannay’s Marine/School of Fish T-shirt
- Tackle box and tackle
- School of Fish full color workbook
- One adult is invited to attend with a child at no additional charge, provided they share one equipment packet.
- Most importantly, however, graduates leave class with the knowledge, skills, and equipment to go fishing!

One Day Class! Certified Babysitter’s Training (ages 11 & up)
This course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Youth will learn skills in four core areas: leadership and professionalism, safety, basic care for infants and children and first aid. Participants will receive their Babysitter’s Training Certification and Babysitter’s Handbook. Please bring a nut free bag lunch.

Easy CPR for Babysitters and Teens (ages 11 & up)
BREATHING or NOT BREATHING - this is all you need to know to determine how to care for your unconscious victim. This CPR class is very easy to learn and to remember!! You will learn how to care for an unresponsive person and will be certified for 2 years in Basic Adult/Child & Infant CPR and AED. You will have unlimited practice opportunities during your certification period and unlimited digital access to the workbook materials. You will be taught how to help a choking victim, how to recognize if there is a problem and gain confidence in your skills. This class does NOT have a written test.

ACT PREP & DRIVER'S ED
ACT PREP (GRADES 7-12)
Advantage Educational Programs provides an introduction to the ACT format and strategies for answering questions as well as instruction for the specific subject areas to be tested on the ACT College Entrance Exam. This in-person, 12-hour prep course (four 3-hour classes) is designed for students who wish to improve their test-taking skills and overall score on the ACT. Focal points of the program include diagnostic testing, science reasoning, math review and strategies, reading comprehension improvement, English strategies, writing essays, overcoming test anxiety, and time management. Tuition for the ACT prep course is a one-time fee of only $150 and in addition, students who register for this course may repeat the classes in future offerings, at no additional charge. Classes are offered throughout the year. An ACT Student Workbook will be provided in the first class, and students need only to bring notebook paper, pencils, calculator, and a small 3-ring binder or folder to class.

SSP DRIVER'S EDUCATION
Our Driver Education program is taught by certified licensed instructors. The state of Minnesota requires anyone under the age of 18 wishing to obtain a MN Driver’s License to complete an approved course in driver education. This course must include a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The classroom includes lecture, class discussion, guest speakers, films, written work from textbooks and written tests.
